This year’s theme calls for action that can unlock equal rights, power and opportunities for all and a feminist future where no one is left behind.
今年のテーマは、アクション！
すべての人とフェミニストに平等な権利、権力、機会を与え、誰も取り残されない未来を実現するための扉を開け！
そのためのアクションを！
Central to this vision is empowering the next generation—youth, particularly young women and adolescent（アドレセント：青春の） girls—as catalysts （カタリスト：触媒、促進の働きをするもの、相手に刺激を与える人）for lasting change.

The year 2025 is a pivotal（ピヴィトル：中心的な、重要な） moment in the global pursuit of gender equality and women’s empowerment, as it marks the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.
2025年は北京宣言（＆行動綱領）採択から30周年
ジェンダー平等と女性のエンパワーメントの世界的な追求において、極めて重要な年です。
Adopted at the Fourth World Conference on Women in 1995 in Beijing, China, by 189 governments, the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action remains the most progressive and widely endorsed blueprint for girls’ and women's rights worldwide.
1995年に北京で開催された第4回世界女性会議、
189の政府で採択された北京宣言（＆行動綱領）は、
今も世界中で、
女児と女性の権利に関する
最も進歩的で広く支持されている青写真です。
The Platform guides policies, programmes and investment that impact critical areas of our lives, such as: education, health, peace, media, political participation, economic empowerment, and the elimination（イリミネイション：除去、削除） of violence against girls and women.
この行動綱領は、
教育、健康、平和、メディア、政治参加、経済的エンパワーメント、女児と女性に対する暴力の根絶など、
私たちの生活の重要な分野に影響を与える政策、プログラム、投資の指針となっています。
Addressing these issues, along with emerging priorities around climate justice and the power of digital technologies, is urgent（アージェント：切迫している）, with just five years left to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

The 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action also comes amid growing insecurity（不安定） and compounding crises, diminishing trust in democracy and shrinking civic space.
今年、北京宣言・行動綱領採択30周年は、

民主主義の信頼低下、市民活動空間の縮小
といった状況の中で迎えることになります。
Last year alone, 612 million girls and women lived amidst the brutal realities of armed conflict, a disturbing（ディスタービング：
不安な） 50 per cent increase in just a decade.
昨年だけで、6億1,200万人の女児と女性が武力紛争化の残酷な現実を暮らしており、
わずか10年で50パーセントも増加している不安な状況にあります。
Under the banner of UN Women’s global campaign to mark the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, “For ALL Girls and Women”, this year’s International Women’s Day is a rallying cry to take action in three key areas:

Advance girls’ and women's rights:
Fight relentlessly for girls’ and women 's full range of human rights, challenging all forms of violence, discrimination, and exploitation.

Promote gender equality:
Address systemic barriers, dismantle patriarchy, transform entrenched inequities, and elevate the voices of marginalized Girls and Women, including young people, to ensure inclusivity（インクルーシビティ） and empowerment.

The Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action transformed the women’s rights agenda.
北京宣言（＆行動綱領）は、女性の権利に関する議題を一変させました。
Legal Protection: Before 1995, only 12 countries had legal sanctions against domestic violence.
法的保護: 1995 年以前は、家庭内暴力に対する法的制裁を設けていたのは
12 か国だけでした。
Today, there are 1,583 legislative measures in place across 193 countries,
including 354 targeting domestic violence specifically.

These laws represent a collective refusal to tolerate abuse and impunity.

Changing social norms:
The agreement adopted at the Fourth World Conference on Women agenda ignited women’s rights movements worldwide, challenging harmful stereotypes, ideas and practices, and paving the way for gender equal policies, laws, and institutions.

Women’s participation in peace:
The Beijing Platform for Action emphasized（エンファサイズ：重点をおく） the need to increase women’s full and equal participation at all levels of conflict resolution and prevention, including at decision-making levels.

Today, there are 112 countries with National Action Plans on women, peace and security – a significant（シグニフィカント：重要な） increase from only 19 in 2010.

These National Action Plans have been key in facilitating women’s participation in peacebuilding and post-conflict recovery, enabling their access to decision-making positions, and paving the way for new laws to address sexual violence in conflict.

Despite significant progress for women’s rights since the adoption of the Beijing Platform for Action in 1995, the world is experiencing new and overlapping crises and the erosion of rights.
